She also explores strategies to address the shortage, including innovative educational approaches, support for nursing faculty, the role of government initiatives and the need for collaboration among stakeholders to find sustainable solutions. Last week, Ascend Learning chief nursing officer Patty Knecht (below, center) visited Capitol Hill to speak with lawmakers about the importance of supporting nursing education and the nursing workforce pipeline. We're committed to building a stronger healthcare system and proudly supported her efforts as part of the fly-in by the Healthcare Workforce Coalition — of which Ascend is a founding member — as she advocated for critically needed solutions to address challenges and enhance nursing education and the nursing workforce. "It was an impactful day advocating for bipartisan solutions to strengthen our nursing pipeline and ensure we invest in creating a robust, practice-ready nursing workforce," Patty said. "I look forward to continuing this meaningful work on behalf of nurse educators and students across the country to drive positive change in nursing education. It's up to us to shape the future of our healthcare workforce and ensure nursing students, educators and professionals have the support they need to thrive." This is how we help change lives. #wechangelives #nurses #education #advocacy #CapitolHill
